Anyone hearing anything from the San Diego County fires? I heard air tankers on a US Forest Service repeater at 169.875 MHz. They were using CTCSS of 123.0 Hz (tone 2).

I am curious about this frequency. I am not aware of a USFS repeater in SoCal on this frequency. What am I missing?paulmcg1 wrote:Anyone hearing anything from the San Diego County fires? I heard air tankers on a US Forest Service repeater at 169.875 MHz. They were using CTCSS of 123.0 Hz (tone 2).
I found that after posting. Is that what the post was referring to?sp1989 wrote:That is odd...that's the input freq for Forest Net Repeater in San Bernardino NF, out put is 171.475
Don't they use the RCS or are those CDF channels we're talking about?paulmcg1 wrote:I think there may be some confusion on the radio channels by responding fire units. I just heard several transmissions where a unit IDing as "3136 Charlie" was trying to contact "Cleveland" (call sign for Cleveland National Forest) on 151.175 MHz, which is normally CDF RRU 2.
