Today I heard someone identifying as SurComm and mentioned they were on Santiago. I guess this could be a CA State Parks freq?

What NAC did you see on that freq?

If the 3 numbers in the NAC is the same. It's most likely State Parks (Maybe).
They love to use NACS like 111, 222 , 333 , 444 , 666 , 888

Same NAC as before $F7E. I'm wondering if they could be temporarily patching stuff to this freq? Since RRU traffic has also been copied here.

Has anyone figured out what this is? Is it part of a trunked system? The little bit of traffic I've heard here seemed pretty exciting, and it was in the clear.

Someone in the know appears to have submitted to RadioReference that this is a mobile extender frequency for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

I just plugged in the Fish & Wildlife freqs, hearing what sounds like the same dispatcher I heard a year ago & same type of traffic on 151.430 mhz.

The mobile P25 frequencies are probably for their portables unit that did not have enough power to transmit to surcomm from remote locations.

They are probably using the same technology the same way CHP uses their extenders. Transmits from their portable to their vehicles and then transmit via VHF mobile at 100 watts or so.

That's my guess.
