Perris Skydiving

Post by brandon »

With the new year underway I'm going through my freq list to verify if still being used.

I can confirm these are still active.
462.575 127.3 PL Sounds like the main channel.
462.625 127.3 PL Ch-2? Sounds like DZ recovery crews.
122.775 Perris CTAF

If anyone knows of others please share!

Hi Brandon,

I thought I was the only one who tried to re-confirm my frequency list every year. Hell of a job.

122.775 is still being used for the Perris jump zone warning.

While we're on that subject, I came across something interesting earlier this week. While scanning the Milcom freqs I have programmed into one of my scanners, I was getting hits on 274.45 (Starburst off shore range, last confirmed in 2013). The audio was fuzzy, so I switched to NFM and it came in better. It was definitely a group of skydivers co-ordinating their positions as they fell. The Perris drop zone was active at the time, but I couldn't confirm that that's where they were. I've heard activity on 274.45 a number of times recently, but was only able to narrow it down a couple of days ago.

The military does jump training at Perris, so that makes sense.
