UCR is in the process of rebanding

They are replacing the old spectra radios this week and any old HT'S. Looks like they are giving up their freqs to Sprint. Along with this change the PD end is looking into renting space on the county system.

I don't think they are "giving up" their frequencies per se. Rebanding is a process of consolidating the spectrum into "blocks". They are more or less "trading" frequencies with Sprint. It's a one to one trade. UCR will give up their 860 channels and most likely receive 853 channels.
