Just want to let everyone who loves monitoring RSO know that the time is FAST approaching. After ringing in the new year, don't be surprised when you scan the EDACS radio system and don't hear a peep. It's all over. It was fun while it lasted but oh well.
A slightly good benefit is that it will free up some of the memory in our scanners...
So with that, get monitoring!

Also, deputies will more seamlessly be able to talk with other agencies, including fire departments. Additional redundancies will make it less likely that a catastrophe could knock out the radio system, Briddick said. He said he expects the system will be turned on in March.

ROOMER has it the Press Enterprise is trying to block or delay past March. Some of the radio dispatchers are not trained for the new system.
