Re: Mobile Relay Associates Talkgroups
This is bullcrap!
"On July 15th 2009, RadioReference.com LLC received letter on behalf of Mobile Relay Associates ("MRA"), from David J. Kaufman (Rini Coran, PC Law Firm, Washington DC), requesting that RadioReference immediately remove technical details of their SMR from our database.
Pending further review of the demand, RadioReference has restricted access to the public for all Mobile Relay Associates ("MRA") trunked system information stored in the RadioReference Database (RRDB)."

Re: Mobile Relay Associates Talkgroups
Yeah this is a load of BS. It will be interesting to see the outcome.
Re: Mobile Relay Associates Talkgroups
Maybe not. Have you actually read the Communications Act of 1934? I have, and I would be hard pressed to find where it ISN'T a violation to post frequencies and talkgroups - particularly after receiving a letter stating that the licensee is specifically NOT granting authority to divulge that information.brandon wrote:Yeah this is a load of BS...
We're free to scan all we want. It gets murky when that level of detail gets published.
I suspect we already have seen the outcome... the data has been pulled. If everyone is smart, that's as far as it needs to go. A high profile legal challenge to Sec 605 (Unauthorized Publication of Communications) could trigger more along the lines of the ECPA of 1986. Some battles might not be worth fighting...
